| AFR bike ride for charity AFR Directors Phil Scott and Simon Speak are cycling 127 Miles along the Leeds Liverpool canal to raise money for Recycling Lives in Preston. The event will take place over two days from 31st July to 1st of August 2010. Recycling lives raises money to help homeless people. It doesn’t just give them a roof over their head it goes one step further. They teach them life skills and give them training in order to obtain employment. They even go one step further and is some instances the residence obtain employment in one of the centres associated businesses. Once they are ready they will go off on their own and the space is used to help someone else. (http://www.recyclinglives.org/what-we-do/real-people-real-stories/current-residents/mark-spark/) Recycling lives have the premises but they need help furnishing the bedrooms. AFR’s target is to raise £1200 which will enable them to furnish one more room of the rooms they have available. That one bedroom will enable them to help 20 homeless people in succession over the next 5 years.
