Qualified Positions

Simon Speak – Permanent
Following his graduation from university with a BA (Hons) in Psychology & Management Studies, Simon began his recruitment career in 1998 when he joined the RK Group. As one of their first consultants he was instrumental in helping them penetrate the Lancashire region and was a key figure in developing new markets and getting new branches open. Simon now works on qualified positions in industry and manages the practice division moving people between firms and into industry.

Phil Scott – Temporary & Contract
Phil graduated from university with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy & Finance and after spending some time in practice he joined the Thomas Cook Group, where he worked his way up to Manager level and formed part of the overseas recruitment team. Phil left Thomas Cook to seek a career in commercial recruitment and he has been in recruitment since 2000. Phil gained a solid grounding in Finance Recruitment with the ECHM Group and joined AFR in 2004. He now heads up the Temporary & Contracts team who deal with vacancies from qualified through to director level interim positions.

Non Qualified Positions

Tammy Smith – Temporary & Permanent
Tammy graduated from Preston University in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in Marketing and Tourism. After joining RK Accountancy’s Preston branch in January 2000, she became one of the founding members that developed the temporary desk throughout Preston and Lancashire. After being with RK for three years, Tammy worked for Xchanging HR Services as an Internal recruiter for BAE Systems for one year, giving her an insight into the internal recruitment needs of a business and experience of running assessment centres, graduate intakes and psychometric testing. After returning to RK, Tammy was promoted to Managing Consultant before joining AFR in early 2008 to set up the non qualified division within the Lancashire Area focusing on clerical, supervisory and QBE positions.

Practice Division

We have established relationships with accountancy firms across the north west area, ranging from small to medium sized through to large regional practices and top 10 firms. Our experienced consultants can offer you positions in corporate finance, insolvency, audit and tax. Many of our clients are also interested to hear from people interested in outsourced accounting roles acting as the onsite accountant for their clients. We can also offer advice on that crucial “first move” and have many clients in industry who take people straight from the profession. Supported by a strong research team we are well equipped advise candidates at all levels trained in practice.
