This manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Business Partner who likes to ask questions and challenge the status quo. The role is a blank canvas for you to make your own, with the support and backing of an experienced FD you will be encouraged to get involved in all areas of the business, investigating and providing solutions to issues across all departments
My client is a successful, privately owned company operating across three sites with a turnover in excess of £50m. They are a recognised pioneer in their field, with a strong emphasis on R&D they are continuously bringing new products to market to meet the needs of their customers whilst also investing in state of the art production facilities to ensure capacity for the future.
The finance department is currently pretty lean, a team of four oversee the daily, monthly and annual routine reporting however the FD is spread thinly and needs some someone to delegate projects to. This role will focus on identifying the drivers of profitability, looking at costings and analysing where margin can be approved. There is really scope here to have a commercial impact on the business and add value by improving efficiency and providing financial MI. They have recently implemented a new ERP system into which the accounts have been integrated along with supply chain and planning functions. The ideal candidate would have a strong desire to delve into the new system and work with managers across warehousing and operations to develop reports and analysis that support decision making. Experience of SQL or Crystal Reports would be very attractive although they are prepared to put someone on a training course to get up to speed. There is a strong sense from the board of directors that there is room for margin improvement and one of the key objectives of this appointment is to identify these areas and work with the FD and other senior managers to implement changes that will increase profitability.
This is a great role for someone looking for variety and would ideally suit someone from a Management Accountant / Finance Analyst background seeking a challenge and some progression. Ideally the FD is looking to step away from the day to day at some point and get more involved in strategic issues and support the MD and Sales Director, longer term the preferred scenario is that the Finance Business Partner will become the Financial Controller in the fullness of time and take ownership of the finance department, month end, budgeting and forecasting etc.
Full study support can be available along with a range of competitive benefits, you will also be joining a friendly and stable team in a well-respected business with a blue chip customer base. If this sounds like the sort of new challenge you are looking for then please apply without delay.
