This highly entrepreneurial, owner managed company supplies products and services to customers both in the UK and overseas. Following recent expansion through acquisition they are currently in a growth phase exploring new markets and diversifying their product range. This is an exciting time to join their friendly team as they are going through a process of integration and change. This has resulted in the need to strengthen the accounts department by appointing a Finance Manager to lead the accounts / admin team and support a busy FD. The role would suit an individual with experience of managing a transactional team, supervising month end and driving process improvement. Longer term there is also a great opportunity for succession. The key responsibilities will be:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Managing the month end close down processes
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing sales and purchase ledger
- Maintenance of general ledger
- Monitoring cashflow and currency trades
- Collation of R&D expenditure information
- VAT, Banking, payroll and pension submissions
- Managing the invoice financing facility
- Liaising with auditors at year end
As the business continues to grow the FD is looking for someone who can develop reports and would enjoy the opportunity to modernise and improve processes. In addition to this they are experiencing increased demand for maintenance and service of the equipment they supply so someone able to set up and monitor service contracts would be very useful. The ideal candidate would have good knowledge of SAGE, possibly a Management Accountant / Accounts Manager looking to step up into a larger £20 – £30m turnover business or a Company Accountant / Finance Manager looking for a new challenge with an established SME.
