This successful distribution business is currently enjoying exponential growth and now looking to appoint their first Finance Manager. Operating in an attractive market they are a recognised innovator in their industry with R&D is at the forefront of their strategy to ensure they are continuously bringing out new products to meet and exceed customer expectations. They also have healthy financial reserves along with support from wealthy private investors to ensure their ambitious growth plans are realised.

Joining a small office team this will the only finance position in the company and will therefore be extremely hands on. Reporting into the MD you must be comfortable performing an end to end Accountant role, working un-supervised at times yet also collaborating as part of a team to contribute to the continued success of the company. A highly flexible approach is essential along with the ability to trouble shoot issues, meet deadlines and adapt to the changing needs of a high growth business. The key duties of this role will be:

  • Overall responsibility for accurately recording financial information
  • Ensuring controls and processes are in place to mitigate risk
  • Point of contact with banks, funders, suppliers and customers
  • Preparation of Management Accounts
  • Monthly reporting on projects
  • Develop commercial analysis
  • Group profit and cashflow forecasts
  • Preparation of stat accounts, VAT and tax returns
  • Preparing office payroll and PAYE
  • Ad hoc finance tasks to suit needs of the business

Previous experience of SAGE / Xero would be useful along with knowledge of Excel to a decent level. You will be also be using cloud based systems to link up with their fulfilment warehouse and e-commerce partners so must be comfortable operating modern IT systems. The role would suit an ambitious Finance Manager looking for a new challenge or strong Management Accountant looking to step up, an accountancy qualification such as CIMA / ACCA would be preferred although QBE Accountants will also be considered.
