This company supplies and maintains highly technical equipment to a worldwide customer base, their cutting edge products enhance manufacturing efficiency, improving both quality and accuracy. With established operations both in the USA and South of England they have recently relocated some of their functions to Blackburn and have identified the need to recruit a Company Accountant to run the finances for the UK operation.
Reporting into the CFO / Co-owner in the states this will be a stand alone finance role working as part of a small sales and technical team. The ideal candidate must therefore be self-sufficient and very comfortable working with minimal supervision. The Company Accountant / Finance Manager will be responsible for a range of finance and admin duties, creating reports, monitoring operations and improving processes to ensure the facility runs smoothly. The key responsibilities will be:
- Producing the monthly management accounts (P&L and balance sheet)
- Maintaining the budget model and variance analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining asset register and stock records
- Bank reconciliations, journal entries, AP / AR etc.
- UK and contractor payroll completion
- Recording inter-company transactions
- Producing the year-end accounts
Previous experience of working at a manufacturing or supply chain company would be beneficial but not essential, knowledge of import / export regulations would also be particularly attractive. Candidates must have good experience with Excel and ideally SAGE, you will also be using various other business management and stock control systems so good general IT skills will be useful.
This would be a good role for someone who would enjoy full ownership of the finance function for a small technical manufacturing / assembly business, globally recognised as experts in their niche sector.
