This specialist service business is driven by a board of high calibre directors with sector expertise and a track record of growing successful companies. Operating in a relatively un-developed market the intention is to grow to £10-£15m t/o and they would now like to recruit an ambitious Finance Manager to be part of this journey.
The opportunity exists for a Finance Manager to join at this early stage and set up a finance department, create and develop systems and processes to deliver financial support to stakeholders in the rest of the business. Reporting directly into the MD this opportunity has excellent development potential in the longer term. The role will be very hands on at the start and requires a self-starter with good people skills and is as much about having the right drive and attitude to get the job done as it is technical ability. Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare the annual budget and co-ordinate budget holders to gather information
- Produce the monthly management accounts and quarterly reports for the board and shareholders
- Prepare the year end accounts and work with external accountants and other professional advisors
- Managing AP & AR functions and recovery of company debts
- Taxation, VAT, PAYE and pension contributions
- Monitoring cashflow, client accounts and availability of funds
- Maintaining and developing accounting systems and controls
The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager role would be able to work under their own initiative and demonstrate a versatile approach to take on projects outside of the traditional finance remit. The role will involve planning and managing company-wide projects, attending meetings and working in groups to ensure the continued development and success of the business. You will have one member of staff to manage initially but with the high transactional nature of the business it is envisaged that you will recruit a team around you as the business grows. Suitable applicants would ideally be ACCA / CIMA /ACA qualified or nearing completion and be looking to take ownership of their own finance function and report into a dynamic board of directors and shareholders. You will be based in a pleasant, modern working environment and can expect your salary to increase rapidly in line with company growth.
