This successful business has recently become part of a larger group of companies providing services to both corporate and private customers. With an excellent reputation and loyal client base they are now moving into an exciting growth phase leveraging the benefits of being part of a more diverse organisation whilst also continuing to be driven by a long established leadership team. As part of this development a new Financial Controller is sought who can bring financial rigour to the reporting for group whilst ensuring the business meets its regulatory requirements and makes the most of commercial opportunities. This will be a broad role involving business support via close involvement with operational staff, Directors and group contacts. Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will be:
- Preparation and submission monthly management accounts
- Management of cashflow, working capital and client monies
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly KPI reports
- Supporting annual budget setting process
- Reporting variances against budgets and KPI’s
- Year-end accounts preparation
- Supporting monthly sales forecast reporting
- Preparing quarterly compliance reports
- Day to day office management, direct supervision of 2 staff
As part of the senior team on site you will be expected to contribute towards business planning to support companywide objectives, ensuring effective communication across all key stakeholders, responding positively to challenges and providing financial support to the needs of the business. The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position would have experience of FCA regulatory reporting and compliance from the financial or professional services sector, strong spread sheet skills and the ability to interrogate and report on industry documentation. The business is currently going through a new system implementation so a willingness to get involved with IT related projects to ensure financial processes and reports are fit for purpose would be advantageous. Previous experience of managing a small finance team would be useful along with part or full CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification.
