A new vacancy has arisen for an Interim Head of Finance to join the business on an initial 9 month term with the option to extend to 12 months. This will be a maternity cover and they would ideally like someone to be in post by mid – end of June to allow for a comfortable hand over. This position will lead the finance department, managing a team of five staff and reporting directly into the CEO and board of Directors. A senior level candidate is required for this role, preferably CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified with previous experience of running a finance function as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director level. Key Responsibilities will be:
- Prepare group monthly management accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet for review with the Group CEO.
- Group cash flow management on a daily/weekly basis, including foreign currency trades.
- Preparation of Cashflow Forecasts
- Annual Budget preparation for the Group for review with the Group CEO
- Provide high quality management information and detailed finance analysis to support the Group CEO and leadership team with business decisions.
- Continuous improvement of internal controls, processes and systems driving efficiencies and delivering cost savings.
- Oversee VAT compliance by reviewing the VAT returns and ensure timely submissions are made for the Group.
- Monthly payroll processing for the UK companies and liaise with the subsidiary payroll processing companies, the pension provider and HMRC when necessary.
- Main point of contact for the group financial audits, preparation of documents requested and review the statutory accounts.
- Review and approve the weekly supplier payment runs and monthly payroll.
- Maintain strong relationships with key members of various teams around the business.
- Management of the Finance team
The role will be office based in a pleasant working environment and you will be supervising a well-established, capable and settled team. The ideal candidate would have strong IT skills to quickly get to grips with their bespoke, fully integrated system. Whilst reporting processes are already in place you will have oversight of the monthly management accounts production process so will need to be hands on at times, playing close attention to cash management and foreign currency trading to support the subsidiaries.
