This FMCG manufacturing company has enjoyed another successful year of sustained growth boosted by significant overseas sales and continued investment to drive operational efficiency. Supplying products to a range of sectors they remain committed to sustainable recycling and becoming carbon neutral by ensuring all their activities are guided by environmental responsibility.
Following their acquisition by a leading European business they are now looking to strengthen their finance department with the appointment of an experienced Management Accountant to support the UK finance team. This will be a highly visible role based at their state of the art £50m turnover facility in Blackburn and will involve regular liaison with their group finance department. The key responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Performing monthly overhead variance analysis and challenging departments to control cost
- Investigating manufacturing variances including closure of works orders
- Monitoring and reporting on monthly stock audit reports to identify discrepancies or potential shortages.
- Preparing regular control accounts Reconciliations
- Processing Supplier Payments to Bank
- Bank/Credit Card Postings and Reconciliations
- Maintaining Fixed Asset Register
- Prepare quarterly VAT & Plastic Packaging returns
- Supervise and management of Credit Control/Purchase Ledger
- Managing day to day finance operations including queries and other reporting and analysis as required
- Maintaining Prepayments and accruals
- Assist in developing customers and product profitability reports
- Supporting budget and forecasting preparation
The position will offer a range of exposure to continuous improvement projects including system changes and implementations, you will also be expected to interact regularly with key stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis to support decision making. The ideal candidate for the role should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of month end processes, good communication skills and a passion for driving internal and external customer satisfaction.
