This division of a global company supplies specialist products and services to a range of industries. Operating as part of PLC they have a number divisions throughout the UK and own some highly recognisable brands. They are multiple award winners and have been recognised as one of the best places to work on numerous occasions.
Following a recent internal promotion they are now looking to strengthen the finance department by appointing a Management Accountant to report into a Senior Finance Manager responsible for three divisions across two sites. There is a high degree of complexity in this role, with plenty of inter-company transactions using a variety of different systems. The ideal candidate must therefore possess strong analytical skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload. The key responsibilities of this Management Accountant position will be:
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts for review by the Senior Finance Manager.
- Investigating and understanding variances and suggesting corrective actions
- Liaising with the budget holders to investigate issues and create solutions
- Production of the Group monthly reporting pack (3 Divisions).
- Responsible for the payroll process within the 2 businesses.
- Responsible the capex process for the two manufacturing businesses.
- Analysis of financial trends and budget deviations, providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Delivering high quality MI to stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with audit controls
- Providing financial support to operations
The ability to build relationships will be key and you must possess the confidence to challenge and influence both finance and non-finance colleagues. You must also have excellent Excel skills, ideally knowledge of ERP systems and group reporting tools together with a detail orientated, inquisitive approach. This would be an excellent role for a CIMA / ACCA qualified or studier, alternatively QBE Accountants will also be considered. Applicants must have own transport and be willing to travel to their other site in Merseyside on an occasional basis.
