About the event:

The NW FD Network is run in association with AFR Consulting, MHA Moore & Smalley and Barclays. Our mission is to help Finance Directors and Senior
Financial Controllers to continue their personal development through:

The presenters and what they will cover:

Associate of The London Institute of Banking and Finance, David Holmes has worked for Barclays for 34 years across various roles within he North of England. For the last 19 years he has worked within the Trade and Working Capital team supporting business customers. He now leads a team of Trade Directors and Working Capital Specialists across the North, providing trading risk mitigation and working capital cycle finance. David will present the bank’s views on Brexit Trade and Working Capital.

Next, Jonathan Main will focus on Brexit, as we should have clarity on our future relationship with the EU after the end of the Transition Period on 31 December 2020. He will provide a practical explanation of our trading relationship from 1 January 2021. He will walk through the steps that businesses can take to ensure that the flow of goods between the UK and the EU happens as smoothly as possible in the new world. Jonathan will also provide a brief overview of potential changes to VAT and other indirect taxes once we are no longer bound by EU Directives governing the operation of indirect taxes in the UK. In summary, his presentation will give you the tools you need to face the future outside the EU.

Finally, we will end with a Q&A session where attendees will have an opportunity to direct their questions to our panel.
