Leading Lancashire businesses and individuals were recognised at the 2012 North West Society of Chartered Accountants (NWSCA) Accountancy and Business Awards at the Imperial Hotel Blackpool.
AFR were one of the sponsors of the event and presented the Accountancy Rising Star in Industry award to Robin Myers of Jacobi Carbons and the Accountancy Rising Star in Practice award to Judith Dugdale from Moore & Smalley through their association with Norwest Recruit Ltd.
AFR Director Simon Speak said: “It was especially satisfying for the AFR team seeing the award go to Robin Myers as we actually placed him in his role with Jacobi in September last year. To see how far he has come and the difference he has made to the business in just over a year is wonderful.”
Other winners on the night were Wayne Tierney from Burnley based Vokes Air who scooped FD of the year and Lamont Pridmore based in South Lakes who took home the accolade of Accountancy firm of the year.
International Business of the year went to Altham based office furniture company Senator International and the RBS Business of the year award went to building services business Eric Wright Group.
Attendees of the awards were treated to a presentation from former Olympian Roger Black MBE who shared lessons learnt through his own successes, as well as entertainment from Stephen Bayliss.
Simon Speak, Director of AFR Consulting said of the awards: “There was a strong caliber of businesses and individuals entered and whittling down finalists to get the winners was a difficult task. A good night was had by all; there was a real mix of business success stories in the room.
Congratulations go to all involved; AFR were once again delighted to support the NWSCA with this fantastic event.”
