Senior Management Accountant

This successful company manufactures high quality products for a specialist market, well established and possessing a global customer base they are financially stable and consistently profitable. A new position has become available in the finance department for a capable Senior Management Accountant to work closely with the FD with a view to managing the department and moving up into a Financial Controller position in the fullness of time.

This opportunity has excellent progression prospects and can offer a long term future for someone looking to settle into a role. You will be joining a small finance team and will work closely with the FD learning the different aspects of the position and their systems. A willingness to learn and develop is therefore essential!

Based in pleasant, rural surroundings this will be a very hands on role focussing on the following duties:

• Producing the monthly management accounts
• Producing weekly KPI’s and production flash reports
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Variance analysis of actual vs budget
• Ongoing management of overheads and expenditure
• Stock valuation and monthly stock reconciliations
• VAT, PAYE and HMRC matters
• Managing FX payments
• Cashflow management and banking
• Dealing with import / export paperwork
• Assisting with budgeting and year end
• Improving systems and processes

This position will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with the senior management team and if you can demonstrate your capability you can expect to be delegated a variety of interesting project work once routine duties are completed. The ideal candidate must have a strong grasp of double entry bookkeeping as some elements of the role will be paper based, you will also be using Excel alongside their various warehousing, production and attendance systems.

My client is looking for someone with previous experience as a Management Accountant / Finance Manager, either fully qualified or a QBE accountant who can get on with people at all levels and would enjoy feeling like a valued member of the team.
