Cost Accountant (12 month contract) – SJS/12336
This division of a large group of companies specialises in the design and manufacture of FMCG products. They are currently looking for someone to fulfil a fixed term contract to implement a new costing system that will work in line with the new ERP system currently being installed. This will be for a minimum term of twelve months but with the potential to extend and possibly roll out to one of their other sites.
It is envisaged that this will be an office based role initially but can then be moved to hybrid once up and running. The Cost Accountant will provide accurate product costing data to be used by site management to drive the business performance. Key duties will be:
• Assisting with implementation of a new ERP system
• Developing product costing information
• Work with operations to understand systems and processes
• BOM management and set up of routing paths for products
• Ensure accuracy of costs assigned to processes
• Create reporting schedules to allow presentation of key information
• Variance analysis comparing standard to actual on a monthly basis
• Customer and product profitability ownership
• Update and maintain product costing system
• Provide financial analysis and to support decision making
• Deliver information for monthly KPI’s
• Support the annual audit process
This Cost Accountant position will have a wide interaction with local management and employees, senior budget holders and group finance contacts. Excellent numerical and communication skills will be vital along with a high degree of attention to detail, problem solving abilities and organisational skills. Suitable applicants must have previous experience of costing, ideally with a good understanding of manufacturing systems and processes.
