Management Accountant – SJS/20214

This established distribution company supplies products and services to a wide range of retailers both in the UK and a growing export market. Rich in heritage they have a reputation for looking after their employees and also caring about their environmental footprint and sustainability. As a result of strong growth over the last few years they are now looking to strengthen their finance department by appointing an experienced Management Accountant. The role would suit a CIMA / ACCA studier or someone qualified by experience with good knowledge of month end processes and management accounts. The key duties for this position will include:

• Preparing the monthly finance reporting pack to month end deadlines
• Analysis of results and detailed commentary on variances
• Assist with the annual budget preparation
• Developing and improving the forecasting process
• Supporting the annual audit and year end accounts production
• Ongoing projects to reduce cost and improve efficiency
• System improvements to improve data accuracy and decision making
• Supporting the FC and developing other finance colleagues

This role offers the opportunity to join an established finance department in a stable, well organised business. Some of your monthly duties will be routine based but you will also have plenty of time to work on added value projects within the accounts department and supporting the wider business. You will require good Excel and general systems skills along with a positive attitude and a pro-active approach to problem solving. Good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative will also be important.
