Management Accountant – SJS/12369

This design and manufacturing business is part of a global group of companies supplying a range of products and services to industrial customers. Following a recent restructure of their UK operation they are now seeking to recruit a Management Accountant for their £50m turnover site in Lancashire.

The role will be based at their modern, technologically advanced facility that has recently benefitted from significant investment to ensure they maintain their excellent reputation and commitment to quality. This is a new position following an internal promotion and they are seeking to appoint an individual keen to progress their career in a world class engineering environment and looking for longer term development. Reporting into the Site Finance Manager the key duties for this role will include:

• Preparing the monthly management accounts pack
• Monitoring KPI’s, cash flow, sales and material analysis, overhead control
• Co-ordinate month end close on ERP system
• Prepare journals and reconciliations
• Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide analysis to support operations
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for parent company
• Prepare quarterly VAT return
• Oversee and assist with AP / AR
• Assist with annual audit and year end accounts

This role will be a primary contact point for site management team so you should be comfortable liaising with all levels of plant personnel to engage key stakeholders, working within a framework of deadlines at both a group and site level to ensure reporting requirements are met. The ideal candidate would be able to respond to ad hoc requests and undertake a variety of project work so the ability to be flexible and prioritise workload will be essential. The post holder will be expected to make judgments, provide analysis, investigate and resolve queries with a view to supporting the continuous improvement of the finance function.

The preferred candidate for this vacancy would be studying towards CIMA / ACCA with previous experience of a Management Accountant role, preferably from a manufacturing or engineering type environment.
