This expanding group of companies is currently centralising their finance department into the East Lancashire area. Operating across multiple sites in the North West they provide specialist support services within the healthcare sector and are extremely passionate about making a meaningful contribution to peoples lives.
A new role has now been created to strengthen the finance team with the appointment of a Management Accountant, this will be a very diverse position requiring someone who would enjoy the challenge of improving reporting and implementing new processes. Tenacity and positivity will be key traits that they are looking for from the successful candidate along with the ability to liaise confidently and influence change amongst operational staff. The position will involve working closely with the Finance Manager and other Business Unit Managers to drive consistency across the sites, monitoring performance via the production and analysis of detailed financial information. The ideal candidate for this role must be ambitious and eager to add value, the key duties will be:
- Pulling together the management accounts pack including full P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement
- Supporting the month end close ensuring accounting transactions are recorded accurately
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, operating and developing models on Excel
- Analysis of trading performance for each unit including margins and costs etc.
- Working with operational management teams to develop KPI’s
- Reviewing CAPEX proposals and other projects
- Overseeing sales and purchase ledger, credit control / daily cash management duties
- Producing quarterly VAT returns, reviewing SAGE payroll and HMRC matters
- Supporting the Directors when dealing with auditors and banks etc.
As part of this role you will be expected to proactively work with colleagues across a range of functions to ensure finance delivers the highest level of customer service on a consistent basis.This role is all about demonstrating your potential and you can expect to be delegated additional ad hoc duties to support the senior management and be given more responsibility over time. To be successful in this Management Accountant role you must willing to work in a fun yet challenging growth environment, pro-actively tackling problems and resolving issues. Previous experience of SAGE and good Excel skills will be very important to develop and improve existing systems.
