Finance Manager – SJS/22982

This privately owned business based to the south of Lancaster has been growing steadily over recent years making quality products for both branded and own label markets. As a manufacturer in the FMCG space they need to be agile and competitive at all times, striving for excellence and encouraging innovation whilst at the same time also respecting tradition and company values. In order to support the expansion of this £15m t/o business they are now seeking to recruit a Finance Manager who can offer insightful financial analysis to support decision making across the sales, operations and production departments. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and project work outside of the routine as there is plenty of opportunity for you to add value across the business. Working as part of a small team your duties as Finance Manager will be:

• Preparing the monthly management accounts pack
• Supporting month end processes
• Analysis of profitability and performance
• Reporting on KPI’s and operational efficiencies
• Maintaining product costings
• Stock management and valuation
• Sales forecasting and analysis
• Analysis of overheads and capex
• Systems and process improvement

The Finance Manager will be expected to interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, taking ownership of projects and becoming a valued member of the finance function. Previous experience as a Management Accountant working with high volumes of stock would be ideal for this role. Strong IT skills will be useful as you will be working with a variety of operational and financial systems, you should also be a confident communicator able to meet deadlines and key deliverables. The role will involve working closely with the MD and offers great prospects to become FD in the future.
