This family owned business makes products that are enjoyed by customers all over the UK and beyond. From humble beginnings they have grown steadily and have recently invested in a modern new facility in the Chorley area to support further expansion. Led by hands on Directors they are really passionate about what they do and this this has enabled them to develop a fun loving yet hard-working culture that provides a friendly environment for individuals to grow and progress.

Following a recent review they have decided to look for an Accounts Manager to join them on a part time basis and oversee the finance needs of the business. This will be their first dedicated, in house finance role and it is envisaged that this will be a five day a week position working on a reduced hours basis, circa 20-25 hours. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active person who can mix with the team, contribute ideas and improve processes. The key responsibilities will be:

• Managing the accounting function
• Ensuring complete and accurate records of all transactions.
• Developing reports using in house systems
• Invoicing and Credit control
• Sales and purchase ledger
• Bank reconciliations
• Preparation of month end accounts
• Cash flow analysis and forecasting
• VAT returns and banking
• Payroll administration and expenses

As this is their first financial position part of the role will involve developing systems and internal reporting to suit the needs of the business. This will involve reviewing procedures and providing recommendations for improvements, working with the Directors and liaising with the rest of the team to establish their needs and looking at better ways of doing things.
Previous experience of managing the accounts department in a small company will be ideal for this role although they would also consider someone working as an assistant in an accounts office who has the drive and enthusiasm to take on more responsibility. Personality and culture fit will be a key consideration to ensure success in this position and they would like someone looking to make a long term commitment and join them on their exciting journey.
