This successful division of a large PLC spans two sites with a combined turnover of almost £90m. Operating in a buoyant sector in the FMCG space there has been significant recent growth due to acquisition and internal investment which has resulted in a requirement for additional control and reporting within the finance function.

A new position for a Finance Manager has now been created to manage the accounts department and ensure that reporting is in line with head office and wider business requirements. Manufacturing experience would be a benefit but the business has strong operational management in place to whom this role would offer financial support and interact with on a regular basis. The key duties for this Finance Manager position will include:

  • Producing and reviewing the company’s P&L and balance sheet
  • Preparing monthly reports for head office, including consolidation of results for different sites
  • Preparing statutory accounts and returns (VAT, PAYE, P11d etc)
  • Managing internal and external audits
  • Reviewing and supporting sales and purchase ledger activity
  • Managing the general ledger, reviewing prepayments, accruals and journals
  • Fixed assets, depreciation, stock valuation
  • Intercompany transactions
  • Foreign exchange revaluation

The Finance Manager role will involve managing a small team of experienced staff, providing technical support and guidance, ensuring month end and reporting milestones are achieved in an accurate and timely fashion. The ability to prioritise and be flexible in a fast moving environment will be essential. Ideally candidates should be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (from practice or industry) although strong QBE’s will be considered, you must be able to demonstrate strong Excel skills and the aptitude to work with corporate reporting and ERP systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager to joining a financially healthy company, you will benefit from the support of an off-site Financial Controller but must be confident enough to be the go-to person on a day to day basis.
