Website AFR Consulting
This highly innovative manufacturing business is part of an international group with a reputation for developing innovative, market leading products. Led by an experienced team of industry experts they have a strong R&D focus which enables them to be at the forefront of new developments in their sector and offer a complete service to their customers.
Currently gearing up for further growth they have identified a new role for a Finance Business Partner to help drive profitability and financial awareness. Much of the routine financial reporting is done at head office elsewhere so this position is all about providing financial support and analysis, managing margins and driving out cost at site level. The role will involve using a variety of systems to develop finance controls, revenue recognition tools and forecasting processes as you will be responsible for data integrity and tracking project profitability. You will also monitor stock and report on labour costs, factory overheads and maintain a standard costing system so some understanding of engineering / manufacturing would be useful to hit the ground running
This stand-alone role will report directly into the site MD and group CFO and will involve close interaction with the other Directors and department senior managers. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively challenge and multi task between projects will therefore be essential qualities for this position. The key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and reporting financial and operational KPI’s
- Preparing reports and analysis for the board pack
- Reporting on performance and profitability
- Management of cost centre P&L’s
- Preparing budgets and forecasts
- Management of WIP, gross margins, wastage etc.
As this is a new role the position would suit someone able to implement new processes, drive continuous improvement and deliver change in a positive manner. The ideal candidate for the Finance Business Partner position would have a high level of comfort with multiple IT applications (ideally ERP systems), the ability to export and analyse data in Excel and translate this into something meaningful for non-finance managers. The position would suit an experienced Management / Project Accountant with an engineering or manufacturing background who would enjoy an operational role where their efforts have a real impact on decision making at all levels within the business. You will be joining an ambitious team based in a modern office environment and will play a vital role in the continued success and expansion of this business.
