Head of Finance – SJS/12422

This business occupies a unique niche in a specialist sector and boasts a phenomenal growth trajectory which is set to continue. Supported by a profitable parent company and ambitious senior management team consisting of a group of industry experts. As part of their long term plan there is now a requirement for an outstanding Head of Finance to join the senior management team.

The role will involve overall responsibility for the finance department, working closely with a Director of Operations and the Financial Controller to run the business and drive performance whilst also reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, ensuring governance and reporting requirements are met.

Key responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the financial control and financial reporting of the company
• Develop financial and commercial information processes to ensure that the finance team are delivering timely information to the shareholders, senior management and operational team.
• Leading a team of finance and credit control staff
• Overall responsibility for the business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
• Developing and maintaining KPI’s in a complex and changing regulatory environment
• Managing complex working capital requirements
• Ensuring adherence to group reporting timetables and other group requests
• Ensuring financial compliance with regulatory bodies, banking partners and trading relationships
• Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, able to influence, lead and coach the finance team whilst also interacting with commercial and operational stakeholders. A sound understanding of financial systems is essential with the ability to strengthen processes, implement changes and adapt to new requirements, whilst retaining the appetite to work closely with the Finance Team to achieve deadlines.

To be considered you must be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with gravitas and the ability to operate at Board Level. You should be a highly credible operator with a proven ability to influence others, analyse complex issues and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders. Able to work on your own and as part of a team you must be able to provide creative solutions to problems and be comfortable delivering information at board level. Applications would be welcomed from individuals with a practice background and at least 5 years PQE, or industry experience at Senior Financial Controller or Head of Finance level.
