This company is a highly innovative design and manufacturing business with a current turnover in excess of £50m. Their current Finance Director has a broad operational role and is now looking for support from an ambitious Management Accountant with the potential to become Financial Controller in 2-3 years time. This will be an excellent opportunity for a CIMA / ACCA studier to pursue a career in a successful organisation, taking on a wide variety of project work to develop and improve the reporting and analysis of financial information.
You will be joining a small well established finance team and will be expected to add a new dimension of both energy and insight by working pro-actively with key stakeholders throughout the business. They have recently implemented a new ERP system and there is plenty of scope for you to develop new reports and dashboards from wide variety of data sources. Good IT skills will therefore be a pre-requisite for this role, experience of or a willingness to learn Crystal Reporting and SQL report writing would be perfect.
This fantastic opportunity would suit a pro-active self-starter who can make the role their own, under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced Finance Director who is keen to delegate responsibility. The main duties for this Management Accountant role will be:
• Preparing the monthly management accounts pack
• Monitoring KPI’s, cash flow, sales and stock analysis, overhead control
• Co-ordinate month end close on ERP system
• Prepare journals and reconciliations
• Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide analysis to support operations
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
• Prepare quarterly VAT return
• Oversee and assist with AP / AR
• Assist with annual audit and year end accounts
• CAPEX analysis and investment appraisal
• Working with senior finance staff to deliver projects
The ideal candidate for this role would have strong business partnering skills and would enjoy working with non-finance staff on improvement projects, identifying and implementing process changes to drive efficiency. Applicants should be delivery focussed, ideally with experience from the manufacturing sector. The role will be based at their modern, technologically advanced facility that has recently benefitted from significant investment to ensure they maintain their excellent reputation and commitment to quality. This is a new position that would suit an individual keen to progress their career and longer term development.
