Management Accountant – SJS/12429

This specialised design and manufacturing business is based in Skelmersdale and has several sites in the local area. Producing highly engineered components for a range of industries and demanding applications they have a reputation for excellence and have grown recently through acquisition of several partner companies. They are now a well invested and profitable group keen for further expansion.

Following a recent retirement they have restructured the finance department and created a new role for an experienced Management Accountant. Working as part of a small team this position will support decision making, identify areas of operational improvement and provide analysis to drive profitability. The key areas of responsibility will be;

• Developing KPI reports, cost summaries and budget trackers
• Providing analysis to highlight key business drivers
• Reporting on performance against budgets and forecasts
• Driving continuous improvement in controls and reporting
• Producing financial models for new projects and investments
• Reviewing and commenting on profitability, commercial and operational performance
• Producing monthly financial and commercial analysis
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting production.

The role would suit someone well organised and used to working in a fast paced and changing environment. Previous knowledge of SAP would be extremely beneficial, you will be expected to manipulate and extract data from a variety of systems. Good communication and presentation skills will be essential as you will be expected to liaise confidently with stakeholders within the group and non-finance colleagues. The ideal candidate would be a CIMA studier or qualified to similar level by experience.
