Website AFR Consulting
This specialist service business has customers in a wide range of sectors across the UK. Recognised as an industry leader they have an ambitious strategy to grow both organically and through acquisition in order to broaden their expertise and constantly improve performance. A key part of their success has been developing people and nurturing talent so as part of this process they would like to appoint an aspiring Finance Manager / experienced Management Accountant looking for an opportunity to prove themselves in a business that recognises potential.
The successful candidate in this role will quickly become a valuable number two to the Finance Director, allowing them to free up time to focus on strategic growth by managing the finance department and taking ownership of month end processes and financial reporting. My client is looking for someone ambitious who is keen to thrive in a meritocratic environment, personal drive and the right attitude are key ingredients that will influence success in this role alongside some experience in the following areas:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and periodic MI reports
• Management of cashflow and accurate recording of all transactional activity
• Responsible for bank reporting and covenant calculation
• Preparation of budgets, detailed forecasts and variance analysis
• Reporting and analysis of profitability and KPI’s
• Preparation for year-end audit and stat accounts
• Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are in place
• Dealing with PAYE, VAT, Corp tax and related HMRC matters
• Ad hoc reporting for the directors / shareholders of the company
This role will involve management of a team of three staff and delegation of duties, it will therefore be the responsibility of the Finance Manager to ensure that all key deliverables for the finance team are maintained and that company policy and procedures are adhered to. The ideal candidate would have strong Excel skills for ad hoc financial modelling and analysis, you will also be using a range of software and reporting tools associated with the finance department so must be confident interrogating systems and manipulating different data sets into a user friendly format. A background in technical accounting would be useful for this role and my client would consider part or fully qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA candidates looking to step up into a financial management role or individuals from practice looking to move into industry.
