Financial Controller – SJS/22561

This multi-faceted service business is part of an established and diverse group of companies operating in a fast-moving sector. Following a successful period of inward investment they are now looking to consolidate their existing operations and grow through acquisition. The finance department has been identified as key area that requires strengthening and they are now looking for an outstanding Financial Controller to join the senior management team.

The role will involve overall responsibility for the finance department on site working closely with a commercial MD to run the business and drive performance whilst also reporting into the Group Finance department ensuring governance and reporting requirements are met. Duties will include:

• Leading and developing a team of finance staff
• Presentation of financial results to management at site and group level
• Overseeing monthly management accounts production for segment companies
• Production of annual budget and maintenance of budgetary financial models
• Constructively challenging senior stake-holders and managers across multiple departments
• Managing complex intergroup trading relationships
• Developing and maintaining KPI’s in a complex and changing regulatory environment
• Over-seeing daily MI reporting to drive and understand performance
• Ensuring operational cash flow targets and credit control KPI’s are achieved
• Managing complex working capital and WIP requirements
• Responsible and pro-active cash management
• Ownership of the balance sheet, adhering to accounting policies and maintaining controls
• Stewardship of year end statutory accounts production and tax compliance

Ideally a fully qualified Accountant you should also be a strong team player, able to influence and drive improvements whilst also managing stakeholders at site and group level. A sound understanding of financial systems is essential with the ability to strengthen processes, implement changes and adapt to new requirements.

They are looking to attract a commercial Head of Finance / Senior Financial Controller who is comfortable running a finance department, working as close advisor to the MD and managing group relationships. Previous experience of a senior finance role in a professional / business services environment would be highly beneficial.
