This manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity available for a Project Accountant who likes to ask questions and challenge the status quo. This role really is a blank canvas for you to make your own, with the support and backing of an experienced FD you will be encouraged to get involved in all areas of the business.

My client is a successful, privately owned company established over 50 years ago and now operating across three sites. They are a recognised pioneer in their field, with a strong emphasis on R&D they are continuously bringing new products to market to meet the needs of their customers whilst also investing in state of the art production facilities to ensure capacity for the future.

The finance department is currently pretty lean, a team of four support the FD who is spread very thinly and therefore needs some technical support and someone to delegate to. Initially this role will focus on identifying the drivers of profitability, looking at costings and analysing where margin can be approved. There is really scope here to have a commercial impact on the business and add value. They have recently implemented a new ERP system into which the accounts have been integrated along with supply chain and planning functions. The ideal candidate would have a strong desire to delve into the new system to develop reports and analysis to support decision making across the business. Experience of SQL or Crystal Reports would be very attractive although they are prepared to put someone on a training course to get up to speed. There is a strong sense from the board of directors that there is room for margin improvement and one of the key objectives of this appointment is to identify these areas and work with the FD and other senior managers to implement changes that will increase profitability

This is a great role for someone looking for variety and would ideally suit an ambitious ACCA / CIMA part qualified / finalist looking for a challenge and some progression. Previous experience as a Management Accountant/Finance Analyst would be preferred. Ideally the FD is looking to step away from the day to day at some point and get more involved in strategic issues and supporting the MD, longer term the preferred scenario is that the Project Accountant will become the Financial Controller in the fullness of time and take ownership of the finance department, month end, budgeting and forecasting etc.

Full study support is available along with a range of competitive benefits, you will also be joining a friendly and stable team in a well respected business. If this sounds like the sort of new challenge you are looking for then please apply without delay.
