As part of this they have recognised the need to strengthen the finance department by appointing a Management Accountant to be part of a small team reporting into the Finance Director. - Analysis, monitoring, and management of inventory.
- Calculating prepayments and accruals
- Develop and prepare monthly balance sheet control accounts incl. maintenance of fixed asset register.
- Preparation of monthly reporting schedules, including ad-hoc investigations.
- Preparation and review of key department analyses, ensuring margins are maintained and challenging necessary discrepancies.
- Maintenance and monitoring overhead spend, reporting against budgets and forecasts.
- Development of KPI reporting to enhance management information provided to the wider business.
- Assistance in preparing and reviewing operational board reports.
- Providing support to the FD preparing annual budgets.
- Assist with external audit process and maintaining audit schedules all-year round.
- Enhanced exposure to key accounting systems with the opportunity to develop existing systems.
- Developing and formalising key accounting and finance policies across the organisation.
The ideal candidate would preferably be working towards completing an accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA) and looking for a role in a stimulating growth environment. You will be working for a great FD who will encourage and support you to fulfil your potential so there is plenty of scope for professional development to enhance your career. The business utilises various bespoke systems from which you will be expected to extract and analyse data so strong IT skills are a must along with the tenacity and sense of humour required to operate as part of a small team in a fast moving business.
