This innovative manufacturing business supplies its products internationally to some instantly recognisable brands. Following an internal promotion they are seeking to recruit an ambitious Finance Manager to manage the day to day accounting requirements for a substantial UK site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong management accounting background to step into a position of responsibility and manage a small team. You will be supported by an outstanding Finance Director and work closely with non-finance managers on site to understand and drive performance. The business is transitioning to a regional financial reporting framework so the ability to adapt to change and develop / improve accounting systems will also be a key part of the role. The main responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of the management accounts and KPI reports
- Responsible for monthly reporting, including P&L and balance sheet
- Liaising with site and regional managers to prepare annual budget
- Monitor site performance against budget and discuss variances
- Customer / product profitability and cost analysis
- Maintain standard costs in ERP system and review prices
- Management of stock to minimise site exposure
- CAPEX appraisal and fixed asset management
- Contact point for the annual audit
This position will involve regular contact with senior management and factory staff at all levels and you will be expected to be an active participant in resolving site operational finance issues. You will support and lead initiatives that drive efficiency and improvement and work with other regional sites to develop best practice in the finance department.
The ideal candidate would be nearly or fully CIMA / ACCA qualified with previous experience from a manufacturing environment. The ability to lead a team and be the credible face of finance to the site be will key attributes along with excellent reporting and communication skills.
