Head of Finance – SJS/12465

This well established distribution business is seeking to appoint an experienced finance leader to form part of the senior management team and help drive further growth. This will be the number one finance position within the organisation, reporting directly into the CEO and working closely with hands on owners. A key aspect of the position will involve improving the existing controls and processes to ensure the finance function operates effectively, delivers meaningful MI and supports decision making.

Supervising a small team of three accounts staff this position will be responsible for all financial reporting and analysis, interpreting data to understand operational implications and provide confidence in the numbers. As Head of Finance your key responsibilities will be:

• Producing the management accounts
• Managing cash flow and preparing forecasts
• Preparing the annual budget
• Identifying trends and variance analysis
• Improving reports and accounting systems
• Financial planning and modelling of opportunities
• Commercial analysis of margins, costs & pricing
• Improving controls to drive efficiency and performance
• Preparation of stat accounts and audit requirements

My client is seeking a pro-active person who can engage with stakeholders throughout the business, using financial data and analysis to improve insight. The ideal candidate would be very IT literate, preferably with experience of SAGE 200 and comfortable using cutting edge data management technology. Applicants should be ACCA / CIMA qualified with significant experience in a Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager role, excellent stakeholder management skills and the gravitas to form part of a senior leadership team.
