Management Accountant – SJS/12490

This successful design and manufacturing business is recognised as a market leader, offering full service solutions to their customers and excellent aftercare for the equipment and products they provide. Recent growth has prompted the requirement for a Management Accountant to provide support to the Finance Manager and the rest of the senior team. The position will offer a broad range of accounting exposure and would suit an AAT qualified or CIMA / ACCA studier looking for progression in a friendly, dynamic £50m turnover company.

Applicants must be bright and tenacious, able to proactively resolve issues and suggest improvements that drive efficiency and add value within the department. The right attitude is just as important as having relevant experience. The main activities for this role will be:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Reporting cashflow to internal budget holders
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintenance of registers for fixed assets, leases etc…
• Accruals, prepayments, cash posting and bank recs
• Analysis of variance against monthly P&L statements
• Liaison with operational teams to provide meaningful analysis of performance
• Assistance with year-end statutory audit and tax work
• VAT returns and other HMRC duties
• Ad hoc support to rest of the finance department

As part of this role you will be expected to proactively work with colleagues across a range of functions to ensure finance delivers the highest level of service on a consistent basis. You should also be confident learning new systems and developing knowledge of the company’s product range. To some degree the role can be tailored to the right individual so applications will be considered from candidates with 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role if they have the right academic pedigree and personality.
