Website AFR Consulting
This global manufacturing business supplies FMCG products to major retailers and has benefitted recently from significant inward investment to further strengthen their position as an established market leader. They have big plans to now increase capacity and product range so this a very exciting time to join the business.
Following a planned internal promotion a new position has arisen at their office in Bolton for a Financial Controller to manage the day to day requirements of an existing finance team and ensure all UK and group reporting deadlines are met. This will be a fantastic opportunity for someone to work under a good FD and really thrive in an environment where career development and employee wellbeing are seen as a priority.
My client is seeking someone CIMA or ACCA / ACA qualified, or potentially a strong QBE with previous experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller who has strong technical skills and would enjoy working in a dynamic environment playing a key role in the overall success of the business. The main responsibilities for this position will be:
- Financial reporting to stakeholders in the UK and overseas
- Preparing consolidated financial information to meet group standards
- Ensuring Financial controls are in place within the business unit
- Improving processes and procedures to meet the needs of the business
- Reporting and analysis of KPI’s and developing business metrics
- Managing AR & AP and all month end duties
- Cashflow forecasting and cash planning / treasury management
- Developing and improving existing reporting packs

The ideal candidate for this role would have strong Excel skills and experience with using ERP systems and other reporting tools. You must be a strong self-starter, able to manage multiple deadlines and work in a methodical, team orientated manner. Whilst you will have regular exposure to the UK FD and Group CFO the business is also transitioning towards a matrix style of reporting so you will play an active role in developing new SOP’s and robust accountancy controls to ensure this is successful.
You will be joining a dynamic and successful business at an exciting stage of growth so this will be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge in a stable company. They are able to offer hybrid working and you will be expected to attend their modern offices at least two days a week.
