This position will provide you with the chance to work closely with an entrepreneurial CEO, managing the finances for a group of companies whilst also gaining significant exposure to managing commercial projects. My client is looking to recruit an ambitious accountant who would enjoy working within a highly driven team in a fast moving environment. Excellent prospects are available for someone to become Financial Controller / Finance Director in the future. The position will involve daily management of a small finance team and working closely with the Board on business and finance strategy, producing business plans and financial modelling to support decision making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of management information and supporting systems
  • Assist departmental heads to achieve their KPI’s and budget targets
  • Manage year-end production of accounts
  • Production of detailed management accounts and weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Detailed profitability analysis by income stream
  • Research new markets, specific sectors, target clients etc
  • All company KPI and management information reporting as required
  • Cash and treasury management
  • All aspects of Payroll and VAT including pensions management
  • Responsible for all business controls and compliance matters
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of all ledgers
  • Development of all business systems
  • Insurances administration including building and liability, Cars and PI
  • Liaising with suppliers to compare costs and achieve maximum value for money
  • Provision of Statistics and analysis as required by the business
  • Ad Hoc Projects and tasks as determined by the CEO and the Board
  • Actively drive career progression and self-growth

In addition to routine duties this role will have a heavy bias towards improving the production of management information. The ideal candidate would be part or fully qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA Accountant with commercial awareness and a drive to be successful.
