Finance Manager – SJS/12827

This award-winning business is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager due to an imminent retirement. Operating in a very niche space they are recognised as a leading specialist in their sector developing and supplying products to customers worldwide. Family run and operating through a range of trading companies in the group, sustainability and traditional values are at the heart of their ethos. The business has grown due to a careful focus on customer care and the ongoing R&D of innovative products that are manufactured in house. The MD if full of ideas and has ambitions to grow the business towards the £8-£10m t/o mark, key to this strategy is the recruitment of a Finance Manager to manage the day to day accounting needs of the business and provide financial support and analysis around decision making.

They are ideally looking to appoint an experienced accounts professional capable of fulfilling a stand-alone position and extremely proficient in SAGE 50 or similar. The successful candidate must be commercially minded with the experience to manage the accounts function with minimal supervision and the confidence / tenacity to constructively challenge non finance colleagues if necessary. The role will involve:

• Preparing the monthly management accounts and profit reports
• Producing balance sheets, cashflow reports and meaningful financial analysis
• Managing month end processes, reconciliations and VAT
• Analysing margins, overheads and business performance
• Controlling and reporting all transactions, cash and forecasting
• Liaising with suppliers, customers, banks, accountants etc.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to operate SAGE 50 confidentially, improving reporting where necessary, streamlining processes, driving automation and modernisation across the business. You will become a key part of the team, working closely with the Directors / family and building relationships with sales and production staff, providing financial analysis and support around decision making, potential investments and business planning.

As they are a small team, the MD is prepared to offer the successful candidate some flexibility to work from home occasionally, once up and running and proven trustworthy within the role.
