Management Accountant

My client is a company specialising in the design and manufacture of FMCG products and operates via a number of different brand names. They are looking to recruit a management accountant who is ambitious and eager to follow a development path towards becoming the Financial Controller. Working under the guidance of an experienced Finance Director the role will become the face of finance to the rest of the site and will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis of this fast growing company. You will be supported and mentored to ensure you reach full potential and will ultimately become an integral part of the team then playing a leadership role when the FD retires in a few years. The key responsibilities for this position will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Financial reporting on performance and weekly KPI’s
• Assisting with and then leading the annual budgeting process
• Preparing forecasts and variance analysis
• Reporting cashflow on a monthly basis
• Maintaining product costing systems
• Supporting month end closedown
• Prepare capex proposals and new product analysis
• Assist with systems development and process improvement
• Assisting with the annual audit and year end accounts

This Management Accountant position will have a wide interaction with employees, directors and external finance contacts. Excellent numerical and communication skills will be vital along with a high degree of attention to detail, problem solving abilities and organisational skills. Ideally you must have previous experience of a broad accounting role with demonstrable knowledge of business awareness, managing stakeholders and operating as part of a team with the ability to take ownership of and resolve issues.
